Goal of subject
To enable students gain (a better) insight into labor market institution and functions alongside and in conjunction with the optimization (right-sizing) of production processes.
Being run in the workshop format, the students learn to implement the theoretical aspects studied into solving certain, practical case studies in order to get some overt experience.
Learning outcomes of the subject
By the end of this course, the students will have acquired:
1. a clarified perception of correlations between labor (market) and capital, viewed from the perspective of corporate cost structure, with the aim of finding feasible opportunities for their optimization;
2. essential knowledge needed to assess the labor market situation, in conformity with the different phases of the economic cycle;
3. obtained an overview of the types of unemployment, and of labor market policies
Subject course description
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students taking this course are requested to attend and participate in all classes. Should they by any substantial reason be unable to attend a class, they shall contact the course instructor(s) to negotiate over a make-up assignment
GRADING PROCEDURE: This ia a pass/no-pass course. The students can earn their positive results by participating in classes and completing their individual assignments (assigned in the classes).
