Conditions for commencing studies• secondary education or the qualification equal hereto received abroad;
• national exam in sciences; • national exam in a foreign language (English, German or French), • command of the language of instruction that shall meet Level B2 description of the Common European Framework of References for Languages, • other prerequisites prescribed by admissions regulation. Learning outcomesThe student having passed the curriculum of Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems:
• is aware of the necessity for high work culture characteristic of aviation, and has an advanced sense of responsibility aimed at ensuring aviation safety; • explains orally and in writing in the Estonian and/or the English language speciality related problems and participates in solving speciality related issues; • makes use of their analytical and synthesising skills in their field of speciality; • has acquired the competences meeting the requirements set on professional higher education and in compliance with international aviation standards that would enable working as a specialist in aviation communication and navigation systems both in Estonia as well as abroad; • has got a holistic overview of the system of air navigation services and realises its connections with different areas of aviation activities; • knows the methods and means for automatic processing, recording and transmission of information necessary for safe air traffic management; • knows the characteristic features of team work and is aware of its importance; integrates the different influences of the environment, resources, standards and human abilities; • creates preconditions for continuing education in Master’s Study. The student having passed the curriculum of Aircraft Engineering: • knows the speciality related international requirements; • applies theoretical knowledge and practical skills in engineering and planning of aircraft constructions and systems, and in carrying out the overhaul; • knows the aircraft on-board instruments and systems, and working principles of its different units and systems; • is able to use different speciality specific tools in real working situations; • explains orally or in writing in the Estonian and/or the English language speciality related problems; • is familiar with and able to use aircraft maintenance documentation both in the Estonian and the English language; • has an advanced sense of responsibility for their speciality related activities, in drawing up of aviation related engineering documents incl., aimed at ensuring aviation safety; • has acquired the basic knowledge of the profession of a mechanical technician/avionics technician as prescribed by EU and EASA regulations; • knows the characteristic features and importance of team work and is able to work in a team interconnecting the different influences of the environment, resources, standards and human abilities; • creates preconditions for continuing education in Master’s Study. Requirements for completing studiesTo complete the curriculum the student shall have to pass the subjects and practical training prescribed by the curriculum to the full extent and defend the graduation thesis on a positive grade.
