Learning outcomesThe student having passed the curriculum of Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems:
• is aware of the necessity for high work culture characteristic of aviation, and has an advanced sense of responsibility aimed at ensuring aviation safety; • explains orally and in writing in the Estonian and/or the English language speciality related problems and participates in solving speciality related issues; • makes use of their analytical and synthesising skills in their field of speciality; • has acquired the competences meeting the requirements set on professional higher education and in compliance with international aviation standards that would enable working as a specialist in aviation communication and navigation systems both in Estonia as well as abroad; • knows the characteristic features of team work and is aware of its importance; integrates the different influences of the environment, resources, standards and human abilities; • has got a holistic overview of the system of air navigation services and realises its connections with different areas of aviation activities; • has got potential for continuing in degree studies and in professional development programmes. Scope of practiceIn the curriculum of Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems practical training comprises 15 % (36 ECTS) of the total volume of the curriculum.
Short description of the structure of the curriculumStudies of the Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems shall comprise the following modules:
1. Module of Social Sciences (7 ECTS) 2. Module of Economics and Entrepreneurship (16 ECTS) 3. Module of Law and Aviation Safety (7 ECTS) 4. Module of Natural and Exact Sciences (29 ECTS) 5. Module of Engineering, of which • Compulsory subjects (38 ECTS) • Electives (6 ECTS) 6. Module of Languages (19 ECTS) 7. Module of Speciality Studies in Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems (103 ECTS) 8. Module of Graduation Thesis (10 ECTS) 9. Optional subjects within the volume of 5 ECTS DegreeDiploma of Professional Higher Education
