Learning outcomes

The student having passed the curriculum of Aircraft Engineering:
• has an advanced sense of responsibility for their speciality related activities aimed at ensuring aviation safety;
• explains orally or in written in the Estonian and/or the English language speciality related problems and participates in speciality related discussions;
• makes use of their analytical and synthesizing skills in their field of speciality;
• creates preconditions for continuing education in Master’s Study;
• has acquired competences meeting the requirements set on professional higher education and in compliance with international aviation standards that would enable working in the field of aviation both in Estonia as well as abroad;
• knows the characteristic features and importance of team work and is able to work in a team interconnecting the different influences of the environment, resources, standards and human abilities;
• knows international requirements imposed on the speciality;
• applies theoretical knowledge and practical skills in arranging and performing the maintenance of aircraft construction and systems;
• knows the aircraft on-board instruments and systems, and working principles of its different units and systems;
• is skilled in using different speciality specific tools, and applies the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice in maintaining aircraft and their units and systems;
• uses maintenance documentation both in the Estonian and the English language;
• places high value on the responsibility when compiling aviation related engineering documents;
• has acquired the basic knowledge of the profession of a mechanical technician/avionics technician as prescribed by EASA regulations.

Additional information

The Curriculum is included in the study programme group of Engineering, manufacturing and technology and the studies are conducted according to the rights given by Government of the Republic Regulation No 178 of 18.12.2008 "Standard of Higher Education".
