Goal of subject

This course gives students basic knowledge about internet technology, computer networks and ability to implement them in real world. The students will be prepared to take the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Accociate) exam if they have also studied the second part of this course "Network technology II ".

Prepared for Cisco Certified Entry Network
Technician (CCENT) certification.
Install, operate, and troubleshoot small routed and switched networks.

Subject course description

This course is based on first two chapters of CCNA Exploration Curricula: Network Fundamentals, Routing Protocols and Concepts.
Topics covered: network terminology and protocols, local-area networks (LANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, network planning and cabling, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and routing. Cisco switches and routers are used throughout the course.
