To give the theoretical base of digital signal processing.
To teach to solve main problems associated with digital signal processing.
To teach to associate algorithms and structual circuits.
To show the possible digital signal processing applications in practice.

Learning outcomes of the subject

Having finished the study of the subject a student has to be able:
• to make analog to digital conversion.
• to find spectrum of the signal using discrete- and fast Fourier transform.
• to develop and use digital filters.
• to analyze different ambiguity functions.
• to generate digital signals.
• to use different digital signal processing algorithms.
• to make digital to analog conversion.

Subject course description

Analog to digital conversion. Digital signals with finite and infinite duration. Periodical digital signal. Digital to analog conversion. Convolution. Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) of complex and real data. Fast cosine (FCT) - and sine transform (FST). Using Fourier transform for filtering of infinite and finite signals. Quadrature transformation. Hilbert transform. Digital quadrature demodulator. Signal generation with given spectrum. FIR and IIR filters. Optimal filters. Ambiguity function. Pulse modulated carrier. Chirp signal. Linear recurrent sequences. Phase manipulated signals. Optimal estimating of signal non energetic parameters. Collection of periodic signals. Slide averaging. Linear conversations in signal processing. Least square method. Linear prediction.
