Subject 'Signal Processing I'Name in Estonian: Signaalitöötlus IYear: 2019/2020
Higher Education InstitutionTallinn University of Technology
Goal of subject• To give the theoretical basis of analog signal processing.
• To teach to solve main problems associated with analog signals processing. • To teach to associate algorithms and structual circuits. • To show the possible applications of analog signals processing in practice. Learning outcomes of the subjectHaving finished the study of the subject a student has to be able:
• to operate with signal formulas; • to find the main parameters of the signals (power, average value, even and odd parts etc.); • to find the signal spectrum; • to operate with the random signals; • to analyze different resonant circuits; • to compose circuits for signal generation, frequency transformation, nonlinear processing, etc. Subject course descriptionSignal sources. Audio signal, video signal, radio signal. Average value, power, energy, spectrum. Signals with finite and infinite duration. Cyclic signals, even and odd signals. Correlation, othogonality, convolution. Random signals, probability function, stationarity, ergodity. Moments. Power spectrum. Resonant circuits, resonance, coupling. Signal generation. Signal cutting, quadrature transformation. Nonlinear conversations. Frequency multiplying and transformation. Optimal estimating of the signal parameters.
