Goal of subject

Goal of the subject course is to develop students knowledgebase and practical skills in radiomeasurements.

Learning outcomes of the subject

The student having passed the course:
1) has a knowledge of radio communication chain components (transmitter, receiver, antennas and cables) and its parameters;
2) recalls radio measuring instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, signal generator etc) purpose, parameters and can use these for basic measurements;
3) has knowledge of combining measuring instruments with computers to carry out computer controlled measurements;
4) is able to use multimedia equipment for collecting, processing and presenting data;
5) is able to work in a group.

Subject course description

Overview of radio measurement; using oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer and signal generator for measurements in radio communication and navigation; transmitter, receiver, filter, cable and antenna parameters; generation and simulation of communication and navigation signals; controlling measurement instruments using LabView.
