Subject 'Transmitters of Information'Name in Estonian: Infoedastusseadmed
Higher Education InstitutionTallinn University of Technology
Goal of subjectTo give the theoretical base of RF and UHF communication transmitters of information.
To teach to solve main problems of the theory mentioned above. To show the possible applications of the solutions mentioned above. To make the students accustomed with the usage of communication transmitters. Learning outcomes of the subjectHaving finished the study of the subject a student has to be able:
1. to describe main parameters and resolves of communication transmitters; 2. to orient in modulation possibilities of signals for transmitting; 3. to apply budget estimation for analysis in transmitting signals; 4. to use optimization in generating, amplifying and modulating of RF signals for providing quality of communication; 5. to check the correctness of results obtained by solution of practical exercises. Subject course descriptionCommunication transmitters structures and solving.
1. Generating of RF signals: Theorethical basis of ostsillators. Stabilization of frequency, parametrical and quartz stabilization. Frequency synthesizers. 2. Amplification of RF signals: Classification of amplifiers. Basic of amplifiers design. Matching and loading stages. Circuit design of amplifiers. Rising of output power in amplifiers. Bridge stages. UHF amplifiers. Linearization of RF power amplifiers. 3. Modulation of RF signals: Amplitude modulation, Angle modulation. SSB modulation. Separating of wireless channels (FDMA, FDD, TDMA, CDMA). Representation of digital signals. Digital modulation (PAM, ASK, FSK, MSK, BPSK, QPSK, 16-PSK, QAM). Bit rate error (BER) and effectivity of broadband channel.
