Goal of subject

The main goal of the cource is to give the ICT specialist a practical experience about PC assembling, repairing and device configuration.

Learning outcomes of the subject

After completing this course, the students are able to:
1. assemble a personal computer;
2. build a local network (incl configuring wireless network) and bring out how different devices affect network's throughput;
3. create different file systems, install an operating system, and create virtual machines;
4. articulate properties of different types of storage devices and computer bus interfaces;
5. assess the effects of various parameters to the computer performance;
6. compose and format practical assignment reports in accordance to the given requirements (incl. correct Estonian grammar).

Subject course description

Eight laboratory works (24 hours) are designed to practice PC assembling, software installation and system debugging methods.
